Join us for a planting event

We would love for you to be part of the story of Hillcrest Community Nature Reserve and St John’s fields by planting your tree with us.

You can join in and feel great as part of a carbon-busting dream team, creating habitat for birds, bees, mammals and more at our community tree planting day.  We’ll be at St John’s Playing Field between 12 and 4pm, where you can choose a tree to plant between the playing fields and Hillcrest Community Nature Reserve.

Why plant a tree?

Whether you want to celebrate a birth, anniversary or another event, to commemorate someone special or simply to enjoy the experience, our Plant a Tree event offers a friendly and enjoyable experience at which you can celebrate and remember whilst contributing to the continuing growth of Wild Exmouth.

You will be warmly welcomed by our friendly team, who are on hand to offer advice, answer questions and help make your day special.

Please let our Wild Exmouth Ranger, Debs, know if you would like to join us by emailing

Where you will be planting?

Our event is taking place next to Hillcrest Community Nature Reserve, on the edges of St John Playing Fields, St John’s Road, Exmouth.

Hillcrest is a growing woodland, on the border of Withycombe and Brixington, providing mixed habitats for wildlife and a beautiful stroll for the people of Exmouth.

It is a rural space and the route to the planting area (about a 2-minute walk) includes crossing playing fields which can be very wet and muddy. As such, THIS SITE MAY NOT BE UNSUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY. If you require supported mobility, please let us know so that we can arrange an alternative route with support.

Family friendly event

Bring your friends and family for a fun day, celebrating trees and wildlife.

Commemorating your day

Everyone who joins in can receive a personalised certificate to print at home. So when you've planted your tree, make sure our Wild Exmouth Ranger has your contact details to send you your certificate.
