All sites in seafront locations in Sidmouth, Beer, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth are currently allocated. We're sorry but no further commissions in these areas can be taken until spaces become available.
There is some limited availability in other areas of these towns but there is availability on Seaton esplanade and The Glen in Honiton.
Please note, we can only place memorial seats on land owned by us and where there is an available space. For seats in other villages and communities, please contact the appropriate parish council.

Leasing and seat options
Recycled plastic seats are long lasting and an excellent use of material which would otherwise end up as landfill. They can be secured at various locations throughout our district but are especially robust for areas subject to extreme weather conditions.
The plaques used on recycled plastic seats is made from engraved stainless steel which suits the more modern style.
Styles of seat vary depending on which location you choose with details on application.
We can offer a seat on a 15 year lease for a fee outlined below. This includes a provision of a plaque, securing the seat on site and a contribution towards maintenance. There is also the option of renewing the lease for a further 10 years.
Additional or replacement plaques will be charged per plaque, plaques will be offered back to the donor at the end of the lease period.
You can also adopt an existing seat (one without a plaque) for a fee for a period of 15 years.
- New seat (including plaque and concrete base) costs £1615.00 for a 15 year lease.
- Renewing a lease for a further 10 years costs £808.00
- Adopting an existing bench for a 15 year lease costs £538.00
- Any additional plaques cost £81.00 (for the remainder of the lease).
Memorial plaques/seats requested for a cemetery will be subject to VAT.

Your information may also be shared within East Devon District Council for the purposes of carrying out our lawful functions. Your information will be held securely and will not be retained for any longer than is necessary. We will let you know if there is an available space in your desired location.
Once we have received payment, it may take up to two months to install your bench. This is because of the length of time it takes once an order has been placed with the manufacturer and the engraving process for the plaque.
