Referendum

A local referendum will be held on 6 May 2021 on the Otterton Neighbourhood Plan.  The referendum will ask those eligible to vote in the parish of Otterton the following question:

"Do you want East Devon District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Otterton to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

If a majority of those that vote in the referendum are in favour of the Plan, then it will be ‘made’ (or adopted) and become part of the Development Plan for East Devon.  This means it will be used to help make decisions on planning applications, and guide future development, in the parish of Otterton.

A "Referendum Version" of the Neighbourhood Plan and appendices are now available to view.

The Plan has been updated in line with the examiner’s recommendations and the formal decision by East Devon District Council recommending the Plan to go forward for referendum.  It has been assessed as meeting the necessary 'basic conditions'.

The full set of documents for the referendum, including important information for voters, can be found on the Electoral Services page of our website.

The results of the referendum vote will be published when available.
