Freecycle - post an advert with what you have and if someone else can make use of it you can arrange for them to collect it. It's all free!

Pinterest is a social media site that can give good ideas to reuse many different items.

Mobile phones

Envirofone recycle mobile phones and give you credit for a new phone.

Wood

Men's shed is a charity that provide carpentry skills they may be interested in any leftover wood from DIY or gardening projects.

Bubble Wrap

Most charity shops would really appreciate any donations of bubble wrap for the many reusable products that they sell.

Clothes

Swishing

This involves swapping your unwanted clothes in exchange for other peoples. It's a great opportunity for you to get rid of all those clothes cluttering up your wardrobe whilst reinventing your style at the same time - they do say one persons trash is another persons treasure. Charity shops

Local charity shops can usually take donations of clothes. It may be worth checking before going along.

Clothes banks

Some charities provide clothes banks in public areas such as car parks. 

Clothing (and textile) items that aren't good enough for charity shops can be placed in your weekly recycling box collection.

Bicycles

Ride-On Bicycles

Ride-On are a charitable organisation run by volunteers. They take donated bicycles, refurbish them and put them back to good use in the local community.

Other ways to reuse

Schools, pre-schools and community groups:
May be in need of items such as yoghurt pots, unused paper and cardboard boxes. Please check with them first.

Shopping bags:
Reusable shopping bags save money and helps to save the environment.

Use your imagination:
You may be able to turn something you were going to throw out into something useful. An old jar can be decorated and turned into a money box, an old plastic milk bottle can be cut in half and used as a bag dispenser! The options are endless.
