Get outdoors for a hands-on day of nature conservation
Join the Countryside Team and the Axe Vale & District Conservation Society for a day of practical conservation, helping to keep this precious heathland in excellent condition. Suitable for families with children over the age of 12, hand tools will be used to cut back invasive rhododendron which will then be dragged and processed with a bonfire.
There will be plenty of Rangers on site on the day to introduce the safe use of all the tools we will use, and explain in more detail why this work is so necessary and what benefits we have already seen from undertaking it.
Bring a packed lunch and suitable warm/waterproof clothing for a spending a day outdoors. Please note there are no facilities on this site.
