Your right to work and employment rights

 As a Ukrainian guest or a person who arrived from Ukraine on Friends and Family visa – you are entitled to work full-time in UK.

Finding a job

Before you start looking for a job – you need to decide what jobs you want to apply for. If you are unsure – a Skills test might help. Take a skills test .

If you are a qualified professional in Ukraine and would like to continue working in your profession, then there may be certain steps that you need to take to practise your profession in the UK. To work in some professions – you will need to take an English language test first. Some language tests are profession-specific, and others are quite general and will apply to many professions. To see if your profession is regulated and what you need to do if it is – read this guide.

There might be short and long-term courses available to help you get qualifications you need to continue practicing in your profession.

If your profession is regulated, and your English is up to the standard of the job – then all you need to do is to transfer your qualifications. Read more about it .

If your profession is not regulated or for any reason (lack of language skills, childcare commitments etc.) you are unable to work in your profession – you can start looking for positions available and suitable for your current situation. For this – you would need to write a CV. If you already have a CV you need to check if it is in a format commonly used in UK, as rules for what should and should not be on your CV might differ from one country to another.
