If you live in an EDDC property and have a great idea that could help other tenants, you can apply for money from the Community Initiative Fund. You don’t need to be part of a group, any tenant can apply!

To apply, contact the Communities Team: call 01395 517 453 or  email: tenantsandcommunities@eastdevon.gov.uk.

Some projects we’ve supported include:

  • Buying a bench for a shared garden
  • Adding plants to make a space look nicer
  • Organising a community event

Projects we’ve helped in the past year

Dray Court, Exmouth

Residents raised money for plants and tools, and we helped fund a wildflower garden and a shed to store supplies.

Trumps Court, Sidmouth

Tenants wanted to care for their shared garden, so we helped with a shed and plants for the garden beds.

Friends of Orchard Close, Sidford

Neighbours worked together to create a garden for all ages. We supported them with a shed and compost for raised beds to grow food.

Tully Gardens, Sidmouth

A new group of neighbours started improving their garden by clearing space and planting daffodil bulbs. We’re excited to see how it grows!

Woodbury Social Group

This group has looked after planters outside the community centre for years. The fund helped them refresh the space and give it a new look.
