1. Be prepared for flooding
We have identified a number of communities who may be vulnerable to flooding and have prepared, with those communities, community flood plans. More information is available on the Devon County Council Emergency Plans for Flooding page.
The Environment Agency is working to provide more local flood information to people across the country. With this in mind the Environment Agency have set up a service called Floodline, a 24-hour telephone information service (0845 988 1188 or Typetalk 0845 602 6340)*. A range of free guides and leaflets are available and can be downloaded from the Environment Agency website.
If the flood water seems to be from an obstruction in the road then you should telephone Devon County Council Highways on 01392 381300.
Members of the public can help reduce the risk of flooding by telling Devon County Council if they see blocked road gullies or roadside ditches.
