4. Aims of Friends Groups
Aims of Friends Groups
When starting a Friends Group, it is important to define the group’s aims and objectives that set out the group’s interests and help to prioritise future activities. These aims and objectives should focus on the group’s role in representing the whole community in bringing about improvements to the green space. Aims are broad, general and long lasting goals that the group intends to adopt and keep indefinitely, whereas Objectives are shorter-term targets intended to help achieve the group’s aims. Objectives should be reviewed frequently as they will change as the green spaces change, projects develop, objectives are fulfilled and the circumstances affecting the group change.
