4. Sidmouth Jacobs Ladder beach

A long shingle beach extending from Jacobs ladder westwards for nearly a kilometre.

Local services

Dogs

  • Dogs are allowed on and off leads from the edge of the concrete area westwards
  • Dogs are allowed on the concrete area in from of the beach huts and on Millennium Walk but must be kept on a lead
  • Dogs are banned from May 1st to September 30th on the beach in front of the concrete and eastwards

Be aware of

  • This beach is not lifeguarded
  • Cliff falls can occur at the western end, please stay away from the base of the cliffs for your own safety
  • You're not allowed to light an open fire on the beach.
