5. Repairs to central heating systems

Before reporting a faulty central heating system please check:

  • the time control clock is set correctly – especially when clocks are put forward or back at the beginning and end of summertime
  • that the power to the boiler is on
  • that the pilot light is on
  • the boiler display for fault codes
  • the room thermostat and thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) are set correctly (turn it right up and if heating comes on adjust to desired temperature)
  • for wireless room thermostats you may need to replace batteries
  • there are sufficient funds in your meter if you have a key or card prepayment meter for gas or electricity

We may re-charge you if a visit is made and one of the above is found to be the cause.
