1. What is the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)?
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) enables local authorities to raise funds from new development to help deliver infrastructure. It is a financial charge which can be applied to new development in East Devon.
We first introduced CIL on 1 September 2016 for new residential and retail development.
What types of development will be liable to pay CIL?
We then introduced revised CIL charges that came into force on Monday 1 February 2021.
