5. Beer (made)

Adoption

A report was taken to Cabinet on the 2 January 2019 recommending that the Beer Neighbourhood Plan be 'made' so that it forms part of the Development Plan for East Devon.  The date of 'making' the Plan is 10 January 2019. This is following the successful referendum on 8 November 2018 where 90% of residents who voted were in favour of adopting the Plan.

Referendum

The Beer Neighbourhood Plan referendum was undertaken on the 8 November 2018 where voters were asked the question:

"Do you want East Devon District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Beer to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

The results are as follows:

Number cast in favour of a 'YES'

Number cast in favour of a 'NO'

Turnout: 25.2%

Examination

David Hogger has now completed the examination of the Beer Neighbourhood Plan (which commenced on 14 May 2018). The Examiner's Final Report is available to view.

Beer Submission of Plan to Local Authority - Regulation 16

Beer Parish Council as the qualifying body prepared and submitted the Beer Neighbourhood Development Plan to East Devon District Council. The plan consultation period ended on 4 May 2018.

Neighbourhood Area Designation

Beer Parish Council requested the whole of their parish be designated a Neighbourhood Area. The designation was approved on 2 October 2013.
