10. Chardstock (made)

Adoption

A report was taken to Cabinet on the 6 September 2017 recommending that the Chardstock Neighbourhood Plan be 'made' so that it forms part of the Development Plan for East Devon, alongside the adopted East Devon Local Plan (2013-2031) and the Devon Minerals and Waste Plans.  The date of 'making' the Plan is 14 September 2017. This is following the successful referendum on 20 July 2017 where 88.95% of residents who voted were in favour of adopting the Plan. The 'Made' Chardstock Neighbourhood Plan is available to view.

Referendum

On the 20 July 2017, a referendum was held on the Chardstock Neighbourhood Plan where residents were asked the following question:

"Do you want East Devon District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Chardstock to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

The results are as follows:

Number cast in favour of a 'YES'

Turnout: 46.9%

Examination

Robert Yuille has now examined the Chardstock Neighbourhood Plan, a process which commenced on the 3 April 2017.  His report into the examination is available to view.

Following an initial assessment, Mr Yuille offered the opportunity for the the Parish Council to provide responses to the regulation 16 submission representations.

Following this request, Chardstock Parish Council produced a response to the Examiner.

Chardstock Submission of Plan to Local Authority- Regulation 16

Chardstock Parish Council as the qualifying body have prepared and submitted the Chardstock Neighbourhood Development Plan to East Devon District Council. The plan consultation concluded on Monday 20 March 2017.

On Tuesday 16 October 2012 the Development Management Committee agreed to designate Chardstock Parish as a Neighbourhood Area. This was proposed by Chardstock Parish Council.
