17. East Budleigh and Bicton (made)
Adoption
A report was taken to Cabinet on the 13 July 2017 recommending that the East Budleigh with Bicton Neighbourhood Plan be 'made' so that it forms part of the Development Plan for East Devon, alongside the adopted East Devon Local Plan (2013-2031) and the Devon Minerals and Waste Plans. The date of 'making' the Plan is 20 July 2017. This is following the successful referendum on 25 May 2017 where 88.5% of residents who voted were in favour of adopting the Plan. Referendum
On the 25 May 2017, a referendum was held on the East Budleigh with Bicton Neighbourhood Plan where residents were asked the following question:
"Do you want East Devon District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for East Budleigh with Bicton to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
The results are as follows:

Examination
Mr McGurk was appointed to examine the East Budleigh with Bicton Neighbourhood Plan, a process which commenced on 14 November 2016. The process was undertaken on the basis of considering the written material which forms the plan, its appendices and accompanying statements as well as any representations received in response to the formal consultations.

A report went to cabinet on the 8th March where Councillors approved the changes to be made to the plan following receipt of the Examiners report. Details can be found on the agenda to the meeting.

East Budleigh with Bicton Submission of Plan to Local Authority- Regulation 16
East Budleigh with Bicton Parish Council as the qualifying body have prepared and submitted the East Budleigh with Bicton Neighbourhood Development Plan to East Devon District Council.

Neighbourhood Area Designation
East Budleigh with Bicton Parish Council requested that their joint parish boundaries be designated a neighbourhood area . The designation was approved on the 30 June 2015.
