37. Uplyme (made)
Adoption
A report was taken to Cabinet on the 29 November 2017 recommending that the Uplyme Neighbourhood Plan be 'made' so that it forms part of the Development Plan for East Devon, alongside the adopted East Devon Local Plan (2013-2031) and the Devon Minerals and Waste Plans. The date of 'making' the Plan is 7 December 2017. This is following the successful referendum on 26 October 2017 where 86.46% of residents who voted were in favour of adopting the Plan.

Referendum
Following the successful examination of the Uplyme Neighbourhood Plan, a referendum will be held on 26 October 2017. Residents will be asked the following question:
"Do you want East Devon District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Uplyme to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

Examination
John Mattocks was appointed to examine the Uplyme Neighbourhood Plan. The process commenced on the 3rd April 2017. His report is now available.
Following an initial assessment, Mr Mattocks produced two sets of questions directed to Uplyme Parish Council and East Devon District Council respectively.

Uplyme Submission of Plan to Local Authority- Regulation 16
Uplyme Parish Council as the qualifying body prepared and submitted the Uplyme Neighbourhood Development Plan to East Devon District Council. The plan was out to consultation until Friday 27th January 2017.

On 4 September 2013 the Parish of Uplyme was designated a neighbourhood area. This was proposed by Uplyme Parish Council.
