Examination

The Broadclyst Neighbourhood Plan is now at examination.  The examination commenced on 15th September 2022.  The appointed independent examiner is Andrew Ashcroft.

The examination will review the contents of the Plan and the responses to the recent Submission Consultation (see under Submission heading below).  It will consider if the Plan complies with the relevant legal requirements and whether it can go forward to the final stages of plan making (either in its current form, or with any amendments).

The Examiner has been provided with a full set of relevant Plan documentation, including all responses received to the Submission consultation.

The Examiner has provided information about the examination arrangements.  This sets out how the examination will be run and the steps involved.

In line with the examination arrangements, the Examiner issued a Clarification Note in October. This set out questions for Broadclyst Parish Council and East Devon District Council.  Following a short extension agreed to the deadline, the responses are now available to view:

These responses have now been shared with the Examiner who will consider them as part of preparing his recommendations.

Further documentation related to the examination, including the Final Examiner's Report will be published here when available.

More information about the Broadclyst Neighbourhood Plan is available on the Broadclyst Parish Council website

Pre-Submission Consultation (Regulation 14)

Broadclyst Parish Council consulted on the Pre-Submission draft of the Broadclyst Neighbourhood Plan between December 2020 and February 2021.  The consultation closed for comments on 28th February 2021.  The Parish Council, supported by their technical experts at Aecom, updated the plan as a result of comments received and refined the plan further following a 'health check' by an independent examiner.  The consultation draft plan and supporting documents are available to view on the Parish Council website.

Neighbourhood Plan Area Designation

A Revised Neighbourhood Area, covering the whole of Broadclyst Parish, was agreed by Cabinet on 13 July 2017 (the effective date of this decision is 20 July 2017).  This superseded the previous designation of part of the parish.

The decision notice and map of the Neighbourhood Area are available to view.
